We offer a variety of classes that provide adaptions during the process of injury recovery to help you accomplish your healing goals. We recommend the classes listed on this page to guide you with your recovery process.

If you are seeking more customized care, we recommend setting up a Yoga Therapy Consultation. Yoga Therapy helps to foster recovery, health and well-being through simple, effective and adaptive physical movements, breathing and relaxation techniques. These techniques serve people who wish to be more involved in their own healing process and oversee aspects of their own health and wellness.

  • This class is for all students and can be particularly helpful to those seeking relief from the pain of herniated or bulging discs; chronic muscular tension; spasms in the upper back, neck, and shoulders; tension headaches; and just general stress.

    The focus of this class will be on breath, creating space by stretching into places where there is muscular tension/trapped energy, and strengthening the abdominals and lower body. If you have completed physical therapy for back pain or surgery, this class may help ease you back into your routine.

  • This all-level class is designed to let you explore postures that increase strength and flexibility to all the major joints, creating stability throughout the body. Whether you have minor strains, arthritis, recurring injury, or are post-PT, this class can help in sustaining your stability, endurance, and strength while helping prevent recurring injury or strain.

    The focus of this class will be on breath, creating space by stretching into places where there is muscular tension/trapped energy, and strengthening the hips, knees, and shoulders.

  • Complete Hatha links the postures practiced in a regular Hatha class with a focus on alignment in standing, balancing, and seated postures. This practice will focus on proper alignment to avoid injury and to deepen your asana practice and perfect poses.

    This all-inclusive yoga practice embraces a variety of hatha yoga styles with all the benefits of the Essential Hatha class, but in a more asana-driven format. Expect the opportunity to learn more advanced poses than you might find in an Essential Hatha class, but also find space to explore your edge to deepen your practice.

    This class is recommended for those who have practiced Hatha Yoga and are interested in exploring a more form and alignment-oriented class building strength, endurance, and strong focus. All students are welcome as safe modifications, instructions, and demonstrations are always provided or available.

  • Essential Hatha provides a safe and supportive environment for learning the foundations of yoga. This fully guided class incorporates postures that are intended to calm the mind and breathing. The class starts with a period of focus on your breath or pranayama. You will then be guided through poses or asanas, which are a series of movements that help improve balance, flexibility, and strength. This class concludes with a 3-5 minute savasana.

    Essential Hatha offers cues on proper alignment, including multiple variations, providing you with the tools to safely practice yoga in your own unique body.

  • This class has the same foundational aspects of Better Backs and is designed for everyone. Better Backs Yoga uses classic yoga postures to restore and maintain a healthy spine. Special attention is given to chronically tight muscles and joints.

    This class is for all students and can be particularly helpful to those seeking relief from pain; chronic muscular tension; tension headaches; and just general stress.

    The focus of this class will be on breath, creating space by stretching into places where there is muscular tension/trapped energy, and strengthening the abdominals and lower body. If you have completed physical therapy for back pain or surgery, this class may help ease you back into your routine.

  • Gentle Hatha provides a safe and supportive environment for learning the foundations of yoga. This fully guided class incorporates postures that are intended to calm the mind and breathing. The class starts with a period of focus on your breath or pranayama. You will then be guided through a combination of gentle yoga poses as well as somatic movement. Somatic movement is a practice of re-educating the way your brain senses and moves muscles through body-mind integration. Small, slow and gentle movements and guidance are used to re-educate your brain so that you can relax and move your muscles more functionally. This class concludes with a 3-5 minute integrative savasana and offering of gratitude.

    Gentle Hatha offers cues on proper alignment, including multiple variations, providing you with the tools to safely practice yoga in your own unique body.

  • You will move slowly and mindfully, fully savoring each posture in this 30-minute class. This class is fully led and includes standing postures that build internal heat, tones muscle, and strengthens your body. You will feel grounded, centered, and ready to start or continue your day after Mellow Morning Yoga.

  • Yoga Therapy is a specialized and advanced application of yoga that integrates with traditional medical interventions. Adding a yoga therapy component to your recovery or wellness efforts can provide you will the tools to maintain gains and return to a previous level of activity. Yoga therapy can also help to feel safe in a group yoga setting, especially if you’ve suffered an injury. There are two ways you can get started:

  • This new class is an innovative blend of Hatha Yoga, Somatic Experiencing, Pranayama (breathing techniques), and healing meditations. Somatic Hatha Yoga explores new ways of movement (called “somatic movement flows”) combined with classical hatha yoga postures/asanas.

    This class begins very gently, expands to a series of fully guided, mid-tempo flows, with options to modify or intensify throughout to customize one’s personal experience with this clinically endorsed, whole-being, integrative practice.

    Together, we will explore the root causes of muscular pain, learn greater nervous system resiliency, and work toward reprogramming old, outdated patterns of managing stress held deep within the body. Through these carefully cultivated, therapeutic, and corrective exercises, students can learn how to take a more active role in their whole-being wellness.
