Karma Yoga Fund

Karma Yoga Classes

Karma means the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences. Karma could also be interpreted as what we put into the world, we also receive.

We believe in providing opportunities to access yoga without financial barriers.

Approximately once a month, we offer a community yoga class or event that is free to attend, but donations are always welcome. We will partner with a local cause or organization that is near and dear to our studio, our instructors, and the Namaste community. Some months will benefit the Namaste Karma Yoga Fund.

Past Karma Yoga Events and Fundraisers:

  • The Longest Day benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association

  • Gilda’s Club of Greater Detroit

  • Historic Hamtramck Stadium

  • Seva Circle

  • Turkey Stearnes Foundation

Yoga is Giving Back

We started the Karma Yoga Fund in the wake of COVID-19. We are dedicated to keeping yoga accessible to everyone and this is demonstrated through our daily virtual offerings and now, through the generous donations of our yogis.

Our annual goals for the Karma Yoga Fund include:

  • 5 all-inclusive passes for any class at the studio

  • 50% scholarship for Yoga Teacher Training (shala) at Namaste

  • 5 workshop scholarships

  • Other charitable endeavors in the community

You can also donate remaining classes on your pass!
